Foi no passado dia 25 de outubro que o restaurante do El Corte Inglés recebeu o XVI Encontro de Vinhos Extremadura-Alentejo, promovido e organizado pela Câmara de Comércio e Indústria Luso-Espanhola e pela Extremadura Avante. Este ano, o encontro integrou as atividades da semana Experimenta Extremadura, um projeto do Governo Regional da Extremadura espanhola que teve como objetivo partilhar o que de melhor se faz na região espanhola.
Trata-se de um concurso de vinhos no qual participam produtores de duas regiões fronteiriças de Portugal e Espanha com grande tradição vitivinícola. Os melhores vinhos do Alentejo e da Extremadura foram selecionados por enólogos de ambos os países e distinguidos com os prémios Arabel.
Dos 104 vinhos a concurso, dos quais 49 representavam a região do Alentejo e 55 a Extremadura, os enólogos Fernando Gil Melo e Pedro Cotilla tiveram a árdua tarefa de selecionar os 32 galardoados, divididos entre a menção Arabel de Honra e os prémios Arabel de Prata e Ouro, este ano com a novidade da integração de Vinhos Biológicos.
No final da sessão, ambas as regiões receberam 16 prémios, ainda que o Alentejo se destacasse com prémios em 7 das 13 categorias existentes. A alentejana Adega Mayor foi a grande vencedora deste ano, com 4 prémios, um de Ouro e outro de Prata e dois Arabel de Honra. Entre as adegas extremenhas, houve várias “bodegas” a conquistar dois prémios Arabel, sendo que a Parfoex conseguiu dois Arabel de Ouro.
Após a entrega dos prémios, houve oportunidade para provar os vinhos a concurso e apreciar presunto e queijo, oferecidos por “Produtos Alimentos de Estremadura”.
It was on October 25th that the El Corte Inglés restaurant hosted the XVI Extremadura-Alentejo Wine Meeting, promoted and organized by the Portuguese-Spanish Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Extremadura Avante. This year, the meeting integrated the activities of the Experimenta Extremadura week, a project of the Regional Government of Extremadura, Spain, whose objective was to share what is best done in the Spanish region.
This is a wine contest involving producers from two border regions of Portugal and Spain with a long wine tradition. The best wines of the Alentejo and Extremadura were selected by enologists from both countries and distinguished with the Arabel awards.
